Meet the WST Board Members!

Peter Jones

PJsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

Chairman of the Board but most of all retaining a special interest in Trust events and community engagement linked to the Football Club. While I'm an elected member of the Trust Board, I'm also the liaison between the Football Club and the Trust Board.

Where do you sit?

In the Mold Road stand. That's after I have helped out at the Trust Shop, where it gives me time to talk to fellow Trust members about anything Trust/Football Club related.

Why did you join the Trust?

I joined the Trust early 2004 once I realised that we were in danger of not only losing the Racecourse Ground, but the Football Club itself.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

As an active and founder member of the Shropshire Reds I was invited to be co-opted on to the Trust Board when I realised what danger our Football Club was in. I had no hesitation in accepting to help save our football club – I did not need any other reason

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

I really can't remember my first game at the Racecourse. I do know it was in the late 1960s, probably during the 1967/68 season as I remember seeing players such as Tony Beanland, Steve Stacey, Alan Bermingham, Terry Bradbury, Steve Ingle, Eddie May etc.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

This is so hard as there have been so so many, but as a game of end to end football, I'd have to say the FA Cup match at Ashton Gate on 7th January 1978 when we met then First Division side Bristol City. Having gone 2-0 up we found ourselves 4-2 down, but came back to draw 4-4, and beat them in the replay on the Racecourse.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Again so many, but I'd have to say Joey Jones, a player who wore his heart on his sleeve, and who played the game hard, but fair.

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Another difficult one, but I'd have to plump for John Neal, who was a real gentleman, and had total respect from players and fans alike. He worked wonders for Wrexham Football Club, and it was a sad day when he left without having won promotion to Division Two.

What is your best Wrexham moment?

There have been so many, but beating Rotherham United 7-1 to win promotion to the Second Division in April 1978 stands out.

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

On the field – Without doubt seeing that final nail go in our coffin at Hereford when we were relegated from the Football League in April 2008.

Off the field – Having to go through the legal process of deciding who owned the Racecourse that ended up in the High Court in London. Thankfully we won back the Racecourse that enabled the club to start a new life in 2006.

Which is the best ground you have visited?

Without doubt when Wrexham played in the LDV Final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Others I have been impressed with have been the Nou Camp and the Mets Stadium in New York when Wales played Mexico there.

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Forest Green Rovers, Kidderminster and Cambridge always make you feel welcome.

Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

A very hard question, but overall I'd say Arfon Griffiths who commanded the midfield for so many years.

Which other teams do you support?

Wrexham Reserves!

What are your other sporting interests?

Love sport in general so whatever's on the TV.

Gavin Jones

GJsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

Presently I'm the Trust secretary, a position I've held since 2008 and part of the membership sub group with Huw.

I'm also on the Club board in a Trust and Strategy role

Where do you sit?

In the Mold Road stand. That's after I have helped out at the Trust Shop, where it gives me time to talk to fellow Trust members about anything Trust/Football Club related.

I have a season ticket in the Mold Road stand but normally assist in the Directors' box entertaining the visiting dignitaries.

Why did you join the Trust?

I joined the Trust early 2004 once I realised that we were in danger of not only losing the Racecourse Ground, but the Football Club itself.

I'm Rhos born and bred so the idea of ordinary working class people coming together as one to achieve incredible feats is something in our genes. I see the Supperters' Trust movement as being no different.

I've given a talk to the Welsh co-operatives recently about the Trust's history and our achievements receiving a standing ovation. This makes you realise what we've actually achieved as a group!

Why did you join the Trust Board?

To give something back.

The Trust board at the time was split with a lot of infighting. Both myself and Nick Stockdale, newly elected,  decided to take both the secretary and chair positions with a private aim to unite the board. We're much more powerful together as we have since proved!

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

My first game was Wrexham v Exeter, April 1978 where we won 2-1.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

Arsenal is obviously up there, but also remember the Birmingham FA cup fondly.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

I've had the pleasure of seeing many great players since following the club from 1978.  Great players playing in great teams.  I can't split the two I'm nominating. These guys were standout players in ordinary teams. My two favourite players were Barry Horne and Kevin Russell. Both leaving the club to play at higher levels.

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Unfortunately I was too young to remember the John Neal days, but my favorite manager by a country mile was Dennis Smith. What he achieved in his time at Wrexham with the off field problems was amazing. The way Dennis conducted himself during that time was a credit. Great character and a gent..

What is your best Wrexham moment?

The day Mark Williams of the WST signed the £1 cheque to buy Wrexham Football Club and watching Alex Hamilton's antics when Judge Norris found him and Mark Gutterman guilty of their fidicury duties. Great times that will live with me forever.

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

On the field – Listening to the Mansfield away game Easter 2008 when I realised that we'd given up and the Conference loomed.

Off the field – Realising that Wrexham fans could actually think that Stephanine Booth could actually be the saviour!

Which is the best ground you have visited?

No doubt the MIllenium Stadium. I was fortunate enough to get a ticket for the Wales Russia play off - what an atmosphere.

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Telford. A cracking stadium and facility.

Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

I would say the two best players I've seen in Wrexham jerseys were George Best in Gareth Davis' testimonial match 1980 and David James playing in goal for Wrexham in Joey's testimonial.

I was also fortunate enough to see Mickey Thomas playing for a few months before his transfer to Manchester United, to an eight year old, he looked like the World Player of the Year!!!!

Which other teams do you support?

I have supported both Wrexham and Everton since 1977.

I'd have an Everton shirt for my birthday and Wrexham and Wales tops for Christmas.

What are your other sporting interests?

I enjoy watching the Welsh national Rugby Union team.

Mark Williams

MWsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

I have been Treasurer since I joined the board in 2004 and I also represent the Trust on the football club board. I will be shortly stepping down as Treasurer of the Trust as both I, and the Trust Board, believe that the two positions should not be held by the same person as part of the governance structure of both boards

Where do you sit?

I currently sit in the Yale Paddock.

Why did you join the Trust?

I originally joined the Trust under the Beer a Week scheme to help support the club and I have been a member from the start.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

It came clear that the entire history of the club was under threat during the tenure of Mark Guterman and Alex Hamilton. I joined the Trust board to help give direction and advice on financial matters. Since then I have counted over three quarters of million pounds, which is a fantastic achievement.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

The first I can remember was Scunthorpe United in the play off semi finals in 1989.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

Born in the summer of 1978 I missed out on the period when we were in what is now the Championship and the European nights that have made us famous. For pure entertainment value it was the 6-4 win a Hartlepool United when Juan Ugarte scored five. Even better when I have seen recordings of Jeff Stelling being ripped on Sky’s Soccer Saturday as each goal hit the back of the net! When deciding what was the best game then it has to be the victory over Arsenal as it got me hooked on Wrexham as I bought my first season ticket the season after, which ended up in us being promoted.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Garry Bennett. He scored the two goals in the win over Cardiff in the final Welsh Cup final that saw secure a record 23 wins.

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Brian Flynn. When you consider the position the club was in when he took over to when he left it was an amazing achievement.

What is your best Wrexham moment?

Lifting the LDV Vans Trophy at the Millennium Stadium. A fantastic day that was made so special when you consider that the club was in administration at the time

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

On the field – Edgar Street when we were officially relegated out of the Football League following the 2-0 defeat at Hereford. We were receiving calls from BBC Radio Wales during the second half wanting us to come on their breakfast show in the morning but I just could not take the call.

Off the field – 28th November 2012. Had to visit the Football Conference HQ in Birmingham with Rob Parry. The meeting was to approve our takeover of the football club. We met the independent panel of four people to answer questions they had for under an hour then had to wait a further 30 minutes whilst they made their decision. Those 30 minutes felt like 30 hours as we just paced around their meeting room considering all the permutations of their decision. Thankfully we got the nod but, wow, those 30 minutes were nerve racking. Rob and I went for celebratory drink after and in walked the independent panel!!

Which is the best ground you have visited?

Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Went there to watch Real Madrid beat Aletico Bilbao in May 2010. Our return flight was cancelled due to volcanic ash so I also had the opportunity to take if the Madrid masters tennis for a day.

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Luton. Facilities wise it is not the best but for atmosphere, especially on a night game, it is fantastic.

Who is the best player you have ever seen?

Lionel Messi. Had the opportunity to watch him play on a visit to Barcelona in September 2008. We flew out the day after the 3-0 home defeat to Rushden & Diamonds – Brian little’s last game in charge.

Which other teams do you support?

Not really support but watch out now for Manchester United, Wolves and Colwyn Bay’s results. My dad has been a season ticket at Old Trafford for many of seasons although now comes to the Racecourse more than Old Trafford. All seater stadiums came in and my admission price went up from £3 to £19 over the summer. This was the same time when I got a season ticket at Wrexham and become a regular ever since. Wolves because I spent 3 years in University there and we had reduced admission as the ground is part of the University campus. Colwyn Bay as they are local team although I was not impressed when their Chairman accused the Wrexham Directors of not caring about them in a public meeting over their ground grading when I was in the room!

What are your other sporting interests?

St Helens in Rugby League when it became a summer sport although my opportunities to watch it has come less since the takeover. I also like tennis, formula 1 and cycling although the recent revelations about Lance Armstrong does leave doubts in your mind about the integrity of the sport.

Alan Fox

What is your role on the Trust Board?

I was appointed Secretary just before Christmas 2012

Where do you sit?

Usually in the Yale Stand, Crispin Lane End, but I often watch night matches from the MRS. It’s one of those strange football superstitions. When I sit in the MRS at night we usually win.  It’s too risky to change it now and it reminds me of the days, many years ago, when my father and I stood in the old paddock. A similar view of the pitch anyway although the facilities in the MRS are somewhat different!

Why did you join the Trust?

I am a firm believer in the cooperative movement anyway but it became obvious that just attending matches and hoping for the best wasn’t going to be enough to ensure the survival of the club. Only the fans acting together could do that.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

I saw the advert and answered it. I thought my legal background could help. I don’t have a vote on the Board but, amongst other things, the Secretary is there to offer impartial advice and to monitor the Trust’s affairs ensuring that matters are dealt with in accordance with the Rules, legislation, Supporters Direct policies, and good practice and to the benefit of the Members.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

My late father was a lifelong supporter and first took me with him during the 1965-66 season (obviously I was a babe in arms) when we came bottom of the old Division Four and had to seek re-election to the Football League.  We lost to Notts County and I’ve witnessed all the good and bad times ever since.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

There have been so many but the obvious ones apart; I would say the 2v2 draw at home to Real Zaragoza in the 1986-87 season. We weren’t a shadow of the great side of the mid 70s but we outplayed a classy Spanish team before a passionate Racecourse and, unluckily, went out on the away goals rule. I had friends with me who weren’t Wrexham fans and they had never witnessed a match or atmosphere like it.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

John Lyons. A local lad who made it at a time when we were a very good side indeed

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

John Neal closely followed by Brian Flynn. Two gentlemen who knew the game inside out and how it should be played

What is your best Wrexham moment?

So difficult to choose just one, but I used to go to the derbies at Sealand Road with a pal who was a Chester fan and the result was crucial for bragging rights for weeks to come. Of all the great results in the 77-78 season, winning there in the Welsh Cup in a night match was so enjoyable that I remember it still (and having to restrain myself as we were standing in the home end).

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

The obvious ones are still painful but I remember seeing us lose away to Worcester City in the FA Cup in 1982. I was staying with friends there who didn’t let me forget it. We were relegated that season and it finally dawned on me that the glory days of the 70s were long gone.

Which is the best ground you have visited?

Watching Wrexham (twice) at Old Trafford

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Any that I’ve visited in the football league e.g. Stockport, Macc etc.  – I can dream that we are still a FL club as, God willing, we soon will be again.

Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

Too hard to call but for all round skill, commitment, tactical nous and ability to influence the outcome of a match I’d say Arfon Griffiths

Which other teams do you support?

I only support one team but when we weren’t playing at home or locally I accompanied a friend to Goodison Park a lot in the 70s and 80s so I always look out for Everton’s results.

What are your other sporting interests?

I’ve always liked cricket. I spend longer than is good for me watching games on TV from across the globe. And if it wasn’t for Wrexham cricketers looking for a winter pastime all those years ago there wouldn’t be a Wrexham Football Club!

John Mills

JMsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

My current role is Vice Chairman, I also provide support for any technical issues. I am the current webmaster for the WST website, and maintain the Wrexham FC online shop.
Where do you sit?

Various places, depending on whether I'm attending officially (and working!), still miss standing on the Kop!

Why did you join the Trust?

I joined because I could understand that the only way forward for Wrexham Football Club was through the unity of the fans, only we had the belief  in and love of the club.
Why did you join the Trust Board?

To offer the skills I have to carry on and help with the work of the dedicated Board members and to fight for the future of Wrexham FC
When was your first game at The Racecourse?

Sometime in 1961! I was 4 at the time, and have little recollection of the game itself, but a very strong memory of the noise of the fans banging on the tin sheeting of the 'cow shed' that used to be where the Yale stand is now.
Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

So many to choose from! The 7-1 victory over Rotherham in 1978 stands out for me though, we were just perfect that day.
Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Again, a difficult question, but I couldn't really choose between Eddie May and Bobby Shinton.
Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

The one and only John Neal
What is your best Wrexham moment?

Watching Stevie Watkin's goal trickle over the line in the Arsenal FA Cup win.
What is your worst Wrexham moment?
On the field – The day we got relegated to the Conference at Hereford.
Off the field – This might sound a strange one, but it was at the age of around 10. I used to go to very possible Wrexham match, including the Tuesday night  reserve matches. I remember distinctly going up to such a match on a very rainy night, with the floodlights shining through the rain, and being stopped and told by a policeman by the General Station that that nights match had been cancelled due to the weather. Standing there, soaked through, cold, and with no sight of my heroes (even the reserves were such to me then!), I felt a sense of sadness that I've never matched since, even with the relegation from the League.
Which is the best ground you have visited?

Millenium Stadium without doubt.
Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Kidderminster
Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

George Best-well, he did wear a Wrexham shirt once! Seriously, Arfon Griffiths, complete quality in every match he played for us.
Which other teams do you support?

There are other teams????
What are your other sporting interests?

A big fan of American Football (since 1984) , and follow the New England Patriots. Outside of that, nothing compares to football.

Spencer Harris

SHsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

I am honoured to be a Director of Wrexham FC Ltd on behalf of the Trust Membership & Board and part of the community subgroup. I was a member of the ‘bid team’ which led the purchase of Wrexham FC in 2011.

Where do you sit?

I have 5 season tickets in the Mold Road stand for my family, but spend the majority of time in the Yale stand on a matchday welcoming visiting directors and talking to current and potential future sponsors.

Why did you join the Trust?

Because I love Wrexham FC and wanted to contribute to making it an even better club.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

Because I have always believed that fans ownership was the right way to take Wrexham FC forwards. I was asked to put myself forwards and stood for election so that I could offer my skills to help achieve this aim.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

I have been regularly attending games at the Racecourse since the late 70’s [but was very young] so can’t remember my first game. An early memory of mine was sitting in the Eric Roberts stand above the away fans and seeing Swansea City flags!!! I have been a season ticket holder now for over 15 years.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

My favourite ever Wrexham game has to be Peterborough away in the FA Cup 4th Round tie in February 1997. The singing in the bars prior, the thousands who travelled for a midweek game and a 4 – 2 victory with amazing goals. It was an electric night!

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Dixie McNeil was my hero as a kid, but there have been many over the years. Gary Bennett has to be up there though for the goals and the character he brought to the side.

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Andy Morrell has an incredible win ratio %. I admire Brian Flynn for the long term vision he brought to the club which gave us sustained success over many years.

What is your best Wrexham moment?

Celebrating Stevie Watkins second goal versus Arsenal in 1992.

What is your worst Wrexham moment?
On the field – Getting relegated from the football league
Off the field – Seeing Stephanie Booth opening an envelope on the Racecourse pitch & when Colin Poole was revealed as preferred bidder by Geoff Moss against the wish of the fans
Which is the best ground you have visited?

The Millenium Stadium is the best in the world.

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Apart from the Racecourse obviously, Telford have a cracking little stadium and the Stockport County home end produces lots of atmosphere.
Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

Fabio Cannavaro of Italy was immense, Neville Southall produced the best goalkeeping display I’ve ever seen at the Racecourse for Everton against us but Ryan Giggs is the best player I’ve watched live!

Which other teams do you support?

I’ve only ever supported Wrexham & Wales. I like to see the other Welsh teams doing well [even Cardiff] so am pleased to see Swansea in the Premiership
What are your other sporting interests?

I have represented Wales at Table Tennis, in the home Internationals and European Championships at Youth Level and Commonwealth games at senior level. I also like watching the Wales rugby team play.

Huw Davies

HDsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

I deal with our membership, answering member’s questions and relaying correspondence to other board members

I also promote WST Membership, edit our membership database and look to find new member benefits.

Where do you sit?

In the MRS usually.Occasionally in the directors box in the Yale Stand when I represent the WST Trust Board and occasionally in the Eric Roberts Stand

Why did you join the Trust?

Because I was very concerned about Wrexham FC in the hands of its owners and Chairman in 2002. I have been a member since January 2002

Why did you join the Trust Board?

Because I wanted to help increase WST Membership. I started an RP campaign in Feb 2011 when the membership was less than 600.I then joined the WST Board in July 2011,and the membership now stands around 2000. The next challenge is 2500 and then 3000.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

A match against Port Vale in Autumn 1969. My father took me. It was a 1-1 draw, I think. Dave Gaskell (Ex Man Utd) was in goal for Wrexham (he went on to play in the back row (scrum) for Wrexham Rugby Club 1st team).

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

A 4-1 win against Newcastle Utd in the FA Cup 1977-78. A great game with great goals. Wrexham totally outplayed Newcastle who were in the top flight of English football at the time (1st Div)

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Bobby Shinton. He Scored goals with panache and made them for others. A great character, every good team needs them.

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Brian Flynn because he revitalised Wrexham in the 1990's. He provided a new Youth Policy and Opened Colliers Park in 1997. Wrexham had a great FA Cup record under his management with wins against Arsenal, Middlesboro, Ipswich T and Birmingham City.

He helped Wrexham gain promotion in 1992-3 and then afterwards eight continuous years in the 3rd  tier of English Football.

What is your best Wrexham moment?

When Wrexham beat Oldham Athletic 1-0 at The Racecourse to reach the LDV Trophy Final. Despite Guterman and Hamilton at work trying to destroy Wrexham FC and its historic Racecourse ground,

Wrexham went on to win the final at The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff by defeating Southend 2-0

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

Two events come to mind.

A home defeat to Accrington Stanley in 2006 and Witnessing Wrexham last effort  to secure their Football League status at Hereford in April 2008

Which is the best ground you have visited?

The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Y Cae Ras / The Racecourse. Wrexham

Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

Karl Connolly. He was a great winger and also a striker and could dominate a football game all on his own at times. I name him because he gave Wrexham FC his very best years

For me one of the best ever servants to the game at Wrexham along with the great Arfon Griffiths. I feel I am more qualified to name Karl here as I was very young when Arfon played.

Which other teams do you support?

None, apart from Wales National Football and Rugby Teams.

Llanelli Scarlet’s are my favourite Rugby team and it was great when a few years ago they played some games at Y Cae Ras.

What are your other sporting interests?

Swimming, Cycling and Walking

I was enthused by the 2012 Olympics to take up Cycling more seriously this year purely to increase my fitness level.

I think it’s very important that Wrexham fans do look after their health and I can recommend cycling, although I use my immediate local area and B roads only until better and safer facilities are provided on main roads for vulnerable cyclists. My favourite cyclist is Nicole Cooke

Terry Stott

tstottWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

A member of the Community sub-group

Where do you sit?

I don't, I prefer to stand wherever I'm watching a match, its an atmosphere thing! I'm a GUS season ticket holder though

Why did you join the Trust?

Huw badgered me. Seriously though, it was the last owner that made me sit up and realise that supporter owned clubs are the way forward for sustainable, community based sports in this country.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

I'm currently studying for a post graduate degree and my research involves corporate social responsibilities and specifically football community related work. It seemed logical to put myself forward to be co-opted when the call came for volunteers in the last members briefing.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

Sometime in 1981 and most likely February when I re-located to Wrexham. I'm sure someone can find a list of the matches we played then but no one particular match is currently springing to mind.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

It has to be the Wrexham vs Arsenal FA Cup shocker, sensational feeling.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Gary Bennett, he had a great winning attitude about him and never gave up on a lost cause. I remember seeing him chase down a defender at the Racourse (Coventry City i think) and having won the ball, beat the keeper to score.

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Denis Smith was a great manager but I think Andy Morrell is on track to surpass him.

What is your best Wrexham moment?

I thought that the LDV Final at the Millenium was great but the atmosphere and fun we had at Brighton FC last season bettered that occasion, and my journey home was memorable to say the least

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

Losing; especially to Luton. Need say no more!

Which is the best ground you have visited?

A choice between the Millenium and Barrow; mmm ok the Millenium wins.

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Excluding the Racecourse it would be between the Aggborough (Kiddy) and Bucks Head (Telford), both are good away days.

Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

Karl Connolly or Andy Morrell? For longevity and record breaking feats it has to be AM.

Which other teams do you support?

Anyone playing against Man Utd; they are just too big and at odds with everything I like about football in the wider community.

What are your other sporting interests?

Rugby - 6 Nations, athletics - track and field and golf.

Keith Roberts

What is your role on the Trust Board?

I will be the Treasurer following a handover from Mark in the new year

Where do you sit?

Mold Road Stand – N144

Why did you join the Trust?

I initially joined the Trust to fight the Hamilton regime and then to my continual shame left the Trust thinking that the job was done, but in hindsight the wolf only changed its clothing and rejoined the Trust once it became clear that there was only one real answer to a sustainable Wrexham FC.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

I saw the post of Treasurer advertised and though that I should get off the sofa and do something with professional skills to help the Trust rather than wait and assume someone else would do it.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

My first game at the racecourse was in about 1975 York at home on a cold winters night, my mates dad took me along and although it was cold and rained most of the game that was the start of the stork.

Well not quite my first Wrexham game was the FA Cup quarter final at Burnley, being from Overton I didn’t know that many people lived in Wrexham every pub was full of red and white.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

There have been so many the Liverpool and Arsenal games in 1978 will always be remembered even though we lost both, we would have won the cup if we had beaten Arsenal, Orient in the semi and Ipswich in the final. History could have told a different story.

But for sheer enjoyment I think it as to be the LDV semi final away at Oldham if Llewellyn, Jones and Ferguson had played like that ever week we would never had heard of Xavi and Iniesta

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

My favorite ever Wrexham play has to be Bobby Shinton oh why did he go to City, if he had an extra yard of pace he would have been world class

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

John Neal who knows what would have happen if we had gone up in 77 and he had not left for pastures new

What is your best Wrexham moment?

The day we play our first game back in the Football League, oh for it to be away against Shrewsbury at the even gayer meadow and we come away with 3 points.

The best moment so far was walking into the ground at Brighton in the cup last year seen 2,000+ fans had traveled so and knowing that all the fighting with dodge owns etc was worth it, MasterCard can’t buy moments like that and Man U supports wouldn’t understand.

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

The home game against Dagenham the year we were relegated, we battered them and still didn’t get the 3 points. That for me when I knew another great escape wasn’t going to happen

TSsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

Before our recent re-organisation I carried out various roles. I've attended Supporters Direct and Co-operative Group events in Cardiff, Manchester and London, spoken at WST members meetings and represented the trust in the Wrexham FC board room and can occasionally be found in The Turf Shop before a game. However I can frequently be found in The Turf itself after a game! I've continued with many of these activities after re-organisation and am on the Community Subgroup which has included co-ordinating Wrexham FC's contribution to the Kick It Out campaign, working towards the establishment of a Disabled Supporters Association and liasing with other influential bodies such as Glyndwr University and local politicians.

Where do you sit?

Yale Paddock.

Why did you join the Trust?

The well documented events of recent years seriously threatened the future of the club and I wanted to be part of a well organised and coherent campaign group.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

After being a member of WST for quite a few years it seemed I had something more to offer to help promote the ambitions of the trust.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

I think I was taken to see Wrexham v Hereford in March 1976. I can only remember being on the Mold Road side of The Racecourse and the grass being the greenest I'd ever seen! When I was at secondary school I started to watch regularly from The Kop which I think began in October 1983 with Wrexham v Crystal Palace.

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

Apart from games like the LDV Trophy win and playing other cup ties v Arsenal, Manchester United, West Ham and Birmingham City in the 1990s where I think the occasion is remembered more than the game, as a football match I really enjoyed an away win in the league v Sheffield Wednesday in August 2003.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Garry Bennett.

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Denis Smith

What is your best Wrexham moment?

For personal reasons, it has to be Wrexham v Roma in 1984. None of my family are football fans, but I did persuade them this one would be worth attending. It didn't work though as none of them went again!

What is your worst Wrexham moment?

Towards the end of the 2007/08 season there was a 0-0 draw at home to Dagenham & Redbridge which more or less convinced me Wrexham were heading for relegation.

Old Trafford

Blundell Park

Why did you join the Trust Board?

Following securing 100% ownership of the club, I wanted to help out in some way to secure the long term future of the club. I answered an advertisement for a specific post which broadly suited my skill set and as a result was co-opted onto the WST Board in November 2011, before being elected onto the Board in June 2012.
When was your first game at The Racecourse?

My dad took me to the Racecourse for the first time in October 1981, during the clubs final season in the old Division 2. I remember standing on the Kop watching a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

There are several that jump to mind including the Arsenal game, the relegation battle 3-2 win against Colchester in 1990 in bizarre weather conditions, any victory against Shrewsbury but top of the list for me would be the 3-1 victory at Birmingham during the 1996/7 cup run. One of the best performances I’ve seen from a Wrexham team.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Difficult as I’ve had many different favourites in different eras but I’ve always enjoyed great passing central midfielders so would have to pick Peter Ward.
Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Brian Flynn, having taken the club from the brink of relegation from Division 4, he built a squad that was regularly challenging at the higher end of the third tier.
What is your best Wrexham moment?

It has to be the final whistle of the Arsenal game
What is your worst Wrexham moment?
On the field – Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow when the team were embarrassing and the defeat made it virtually impossible to avoid relegation to the Conference.
Off the field – The realisation that the club was in serious financial trouble, when the club entered administration in December 2004.
Which is the best ground you have visited?

The San Siro in Milan was special watching Wales, however my favourite would have to be the Millennium Stadium where I’ve watched football, rugby and concerts.

I’ve not been to many of them but I really enjoyed Telford last season. The atmosphere from the 2,500 Wrexham fans on three sides of the ground was great.

Difficult to pick one but for his goalscoring, Gary Bennett.

Which other teams do you support?

Wales but no other club sides although I like to see Cardiff and Swansea doing well.

I love watching and playing Cricket and watching Rugby Union.

JCsWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

I was elected onto the Trust Board in August 2012 and am the lead on Community. I am currently involved with the setting up of a Disabled Supporters Association, liaising with The Community Foundation and looking into new ways of raising the profile Of Wrexham Football Club within the community.

Where do you sit?

Middle of the Paddock. Never a dull moment!

Why did you join the Trust?

As it became more and more apparent the club was going from one bad situation to another as far as ownership went I realised the great importance fan power was becoming to the Club. I saw the Trust as a way of bringing fans together, enabling a voice for the fans and actually being recognised for just important they are. I also secretly dreamt they could one day take over the club but with what was going on in our beloved Club never ever imagined I would see this reality.

Why did you join the Trust Board?

I have been a passionate Wrexham Fan for 23 years. I become deeply passionate about saving the club along with all other fans and saw just important the Trust were to the Club and the community. I really wanted to join the Board to contribute in a positive way to the future of the Club.

When was your first game at The Racecourse?

I am not 100% sure on this, I know it was 1989-1990 season and have a funny feeling we were at home to Peterborough!

Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

Northampton V Wrexham April 1993 when Wrexham won 2-0 and gained promotion to old division two. Another game that really stands out is when Wrexham beat Merthyr Tydfil 8-0 in the FAW Premier Cup at The Racecourse in February 2000. Andy Morrell scored seven goals and it was a fantastic game to witness.

Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

Peter Ward! I was devastated when he left and no one player has ever quite matched up to the midfield/play-maker dynamo Wardy!

Who is your favourite Wrexham manager?

Denis Smith. He led us to the LDV Final and also remained fiercely loyal to Wrexham during the off-field troubles of administration etc. I really respect him for that.

What is your best Wrexham moment?

Being promoted to old Division 2 at Northampton 1993. And winning the LDV final in Cardiff 2005.

What is your worst Wrexham moment?
On the field – Losing to Chesterfield at Saltergate in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup 1997. I don't think I could speak for 24 hours after that gut-wrenching defeat.
Off the field – When it looked like Wrexham may not be able to start 2011-12 season due to The Football Conference seeking assurances and a £250,000 bond as security. However the way fans pulled together over that crucial time and raised the money still brings a tear to my eye!

Boundary Park- home of Oldham Athletic! Best half time pies and brilliant friendly fans. Always had a great time visiting there.

Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Telford, mainly because its a cracking local rivalry!
Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

Carlos Edwards. Super skilled and fantastic to watch.

Which other teams do you support?

I do have a soft spot for Tottenham Hotspur. I grew an interest in them when Gazza/Linekar/Sheringham were there and lived on White Hart Lane for a year when at University so got a chance to take in a few games. And they love Wrexham for our historic win over Arsenal in 1992.
What are your other sporting interests?

I follow the Welsh National Football Team and also enjoy watching Wales in the Six Nations Rugby. I am a fan of Tennis and will watch it when I can especially if Andy Murray or Roger Federer are involved. Also a bit of a Grand Prix fan!

MVJWhat is your role on the Trust Board?

Just been appointed to coordinate media matters for the WST.
Where do you sit?

In the main stand but have had a couple of outings in the Paddock recently.
Why did you join the Trust?

I joined the Trust around 2003 due to the antics of Guterman and Hamilton. It became clear that fan ownership was the only way to secure a future for the club and Racecourse ground.
Why did you join the Trust Board?

I was asked to and I felt it was a privilege to join a group of people who have worked so hard to save this club and who have a vision for the future.
When was your first game at The Racecourse?

Wrexham 1 v 0 Brentford aged 7. Went with my best friend Wyn and his dad and stood on the Kop. Arfon Griffiths scored a penalty to win the game in the last few minutes. It was a pretty grim game from what I remember but we won and I was hooked.
Which was the best Wrexham game you have seen?

Beating Newcastle 4-1 was a stand out in an amazing season. It was an evening cup game. Newcastle were then a Div 2 (Championship today) side but still seen as a big scalp. We played them off the park. There was a sense that we were invincible with that team.
Who is your favourite ever Wrexham player?

If I had to choose it’d be Graham Whittle but it’s a team game .

Andy Morrell – for his work on the pitch but also in joining the WST.
What is your best Wrexham moment?

My youngest son being mascot at the game v Kidderminster 2 years ago.
What is your worst Wrexham moment?
On the field – My eldest son refusing to come and watch Wrexham with me again once we were relegated to the Conference.
Off the field – Missing out on promotion v Mansfield in 1977 and seeing Big Billy Ashcroft in tears. But that set us up for a great Championship-winning season so here’s hoping history will repeat itself.
Which is the best ground you have visited?

Emirates Stadium for comfort (padded seats!) but Millenium for Wales v Italy for the incredible atmosphere
Which is your favourite Conference ground?

Don’t go to many away games sorry.
Who is the best Wrexham player you have ever seen?

Joey Jones isn’t the most skilful player to grace the Racecourse but if we’re talking about heart and soul, he’s the best.
Which other teams do you support?

Everton – also taken to Goodison by my dad during 1969-70 season and was immediately hooked. Give me the boy at seven, as they say…
What are your other sporting interests?

Enjoyed the Crusaders’ brief encounter with Superleague and would watch Wales play underwater tiddlywinks if it meant we qualified for something.
