Arise King Kenny
TOMORROW is the day when we celebrate one of the Kings of Wrexham.
Kenny Pemberton is a true legend, as those of you who read last weeks column or who have been following what has been going on at Wrexham will know that when the need to save Wrexham came calling, Kenny answered. His sterling work eventually led him into a legal dispute and from that legal dispute came some vital information which helped to save our club.
Unfortunately, the other things which legal disputes produce are court costs, and Kenny has been left seriously out of pocket by his escapades.
Thats why WST and the club are honouring him with Kenny Pemberton day, and why Wrexham fans and legendary band the Declan Swans will be playing a gig for him at the Centenary club tomorrow night.
So pop some money in a bucket at the Lincoln match, go to the gig and honour one of the true stars of the last few years of Wrexhams history. This weeks match is the last before our sell out Christmas party so if you want to pick up some extra books of raffle tickets, this Saturday is your last chance to do so. We are hoping the Christmas Raffle will raise a large sum towards our Target 250, so please call in the WST shop on Saturday and pick up some extra books. And, as with every home Saturday match, will be running a WST surgery with your chance to meet board members and get your concerns off your chest to them. The surgery will run from 1.30pm for an hour in the Wrexham Lager Club.
Following on from the Lincoln match, we will be running coaches to Scunthorpe on December 2. The FA cup has proven interesting for Wrexham in the past and were looking for a good run this year to. Get in touch in the usual manner and well make sure you travel to Scunthorpe in luxury (though we cant promise that Scunny itself will be as luxurious as you might hope!)
Finally, dont forget the WST members meeting on December 4 where the guest of honour will be Darren Ferguson, talking about his career, Wrexham FC, and much more.
For more info on that or anything else go to www.wst.org.uk or call us on our mobile at 07981 151 958.
