Wrexham Supporters Trust are pleased to announce that the after dinner speaker at the 2012/13 Player of the Season dinner, taking place on Sunday 21st April at the Lion Quays starting at 1pm, will be the former Republic of Ireland, Everton and Liverpool midfield player Kevin Sheedy.
Kevin spent the largest portion of his playing career with Everton œ with whom he won the FA Cup, European Cup Winners' Cup and two Football League titles.
He also played for Hereford United, Newcastle United and Blackpool, and was assistant manager in 2006 with Tranmere Rovers. Born in Builth Wells, Wales, he was to win 46 caps, scoring nine goals for the Republic of Ireland and scored the country's first ever goal in a FIFA World Cup finals.
In August 2012 Kevin was diagnosed with bowel cancer, but he was later given the all clear due as he stated; 'my life has been saved through early detection'.
He is still very much involved with football as an academy coach for Everton.
With Andy Morrell and the first team squad in attendance it promises to be an entertaining afternoon.
The afternoon will see all the club's Player of the Season awards presented by all the club's recognised supporters' groups, whilst the FA Trophy itself will be in attendance!
The cost of the dinner is just £30 per person, which will include a two course meal, and a top class comedian to make it an afternoon to remember!
You can book your seats by calling in at the club shop and paying by cash or card.
Please book asap as to avoid disappointment.
