Members Briefing 03/12/2011

wstlogosmallycwsmallWrexham Football Club Takeover

It is with delight that the board of the Wrexham Supporters Trust announce that approval has been given by the English FA and Blue Square Premier for the transfer of ownership of Wrexham FC.

It is our belief that the club has a very bright long-term future in which all fans will have a part to play. The announcement is the first step on that journey. At the members meeting on Monday we will set out some of the key challenges for Wrexham FC for the remainder of this season and into next. If you cannot attend the meeting we will get a summary out afterwards to keep everyone informed.

You can watch the Press Conference which was held at the Racecourse on 02/12/2011

Members Meeting

We know its short notice, but it is felt that we inform our membership fully of events taken place, and what is required going forward as a Trust run football club as soon as possible. We are holding a members meeting for members of Wrexham Supporters Trust this coming Monday (5th December) at the Centenary Club at 7.30pm. Doors will open at 7pm.

We know that this will be a well-attended meeting, and apologise beforehand at the size of the venue, but our preferred venue of the William Aston Hall is not available throughout December.

Any non-members can join at the door on the night.

Community Shares
We would first of all like to announce that we have co-opted a new Board member in Dave Jones, who will be working on seeing through the Community Share issue. Dave is known to many Wrexham fans as a former secretary of the Shropshire Reds supporters group.

Accompanying this letter, you will find enclosed the Wrexham FC Community Share Issue Red or Dead leaflet.

This leaflet provides details around the Trust's intention to enable supporters to purchase Community Shares to help fund the societys acquisition of Wrexham FC, and provide working capital to enable it to become a successful sustainable club.

Now that the takeover of the club has been ratified, the Trust will continue to work with Supporters Direct to produce a detailed share proposal and detailed terms, which will be issued at the launch of the Share Offer early in the New Year. For further information, including FAQ's, please visit our website: www.wst.org.uk

Fundraising

Our fundraising efforts continue, with the Christmas Raffle being our next big fundraising event. With this letter, you will find two books of raffle tickets, each containing ten tickets at £1 each. We would ask that every member push the boat out to help make Wrexham FC the sustainable football club we crave for by playing your part in selling the tickets sent to you.

We need this to be a bigger fundraiser than the Snowdon walk, because it really is part of the Red or Dead campaign to secure the survival of Wrexham FC. Please do not cast these tickets aside. We need YOU to play your part in selling these tickets to family and friends.

As you can see from the prizes below we've really pushed the boat out this time by having some true Christmas cracker prizes!

2011-12 Wrexham FC Yearbook

The ideal Christmas present! This is the sixth volume of C'mon The Town, the Wrexham yearbook sponsored by the Leader and proudly published by the Wrexham Supporters Trust will be out for Christmas!

Quite simply, this book is the standard by which all other yearbooks should be
judged. No other club at our level has anything like this. Produced by the fans; for the fans; this book enables the loyal Wrexham supporter to relive the raw excitement of the previous season and look forward to the coming season. Read up on the timeline of events from January to the verge of Wrexham FC becoming a fans owned club.

Every strand of the clubs activities is brought together here in 228 action
filled, fully illustrated pages drenched with passion, commitment and the belief
that this club will rise again. It is without doubt the best club yearbook in
non-league football!

Every question you have about last season is answered here. In 10 years time when we are well established in the Championship and your kids are moaning about another 1-1 draw at Everton, you will take this book down from the shelf, gently blow away the dust and say; "Come here son, let me tell you about Ebbsfleet and Fleetwood!"

The book this year includes 17 pages on the timeline of events from January 2011 until the takeover of the club on Wednesday 30th November 2011, which makes interesting reading.

Please make every effort to purchase this book, and support the efforts of those who make it possible.
