Wrexham Supporters Trust Press Statement

wstlogosmallWrexham Supporters Trust is naturally concerned to hear the news that the HMRC has issued a winding up order on Wrexham FC but is actively engaged in discussions with the club owners to come up with a solution to secure the long-term future of Wrexham Football Club, the Racecourse and Colliers Park. Any solution will be subject to the completion of a due diligence exercise currently being conducted by our professional advisors BDO LLP and our members approval at a Special General Meeting (SGM) in the near future.

We have called the first of two SGMs tomorrow evening at the Wrexham Lager Club at 7.30pm when we will update members on our progress towards making a bid for Wrexham FC and asking them to vote on two resolutions: (1) to approve an evaluation framework to measure any bids that require WST funding for the purchase of Wrexham FC, The Racecourse Ground and/or Colliers Park and (2) to ask members approval to call future special general meetings (up to the AGM) within 7 days instead of the present 14.

This will enable the Board of the WST to react more quickly to emerging events and to present an objective analysis of bids to its members at the next SGM, which will enable them to decide on the best way forward to secure the long-term future of Wrexham FC, the Racecourse and Colliers Park. In the meantime we ask all fans to get behind Dean Saunders and his players to enable them to focus on the push for promotion back to the Football League.
