Progress Update - Negotiations Enter a Key Stage
Following the receipt of additional legal due diligence material, the bid team entered detailed and confidential negotiations with the Clubs owners last week. Having conducted a risk assessment of the Clubs forecasted cash flow requirements over the weekend, the team will tomorrow request the outstanding legal and financial information it needs to complete financial and legal due diligence. We will continue our discussions with the owners this week in order to finalise our proposal, which would then need to be submitted to the Blue Square Premier, Football Association and WST members for approval. We will confirm the timescales for this process as soon as we are in a position to do so.
Quiz at the Four Dogs: We would like to thank Scoot and everyone who supported the football quiz and poetry night at the Four Dogs on Thursday evening. The evening raised £120 towards WST's growing funds while also introducing an element of entertainment to the cause. A fun night was had by all, with the evening finishing with some classic Declan Swans numbers such as the Kilshaws, Acton Park, Captain Haddoc.
Saturday Stall: Well done once again to the now well established Saturday stall team in Wrexham town centre. Despite the heavy showers, the stall raised £353 and gained four new Trust members. Welcome to you all. A big thank you goes to everyone who gave their time to run the stall. The Trust is keen to hear from supporters groups who may wish to take the idea forward elsewhere in the town or surrounding areas. We also would like to give a big thank you to Andrew Purslow for raising £57 towards WST funds on a car boot sale in Chirk.
For anyone who has not found a walker to sponsor then may we suggest that donations are made directly to Wrexham Supporters Trust by sending a cheque made payable to 'WST' to 'Freepost WST'; no stamp is required.
The Trust is on course to beat the previous highest total for one single fundraising event, when around £12k was raised for the 92 football clubs signed shirt collection. Lets make one final effort folks!
Good luck to everyone making the walk; have a thoroughly enjoyable day out!
Opportunities at the Friendlies
Trust Shop: Wrexham Supporters Trust will have the 'old Trust shop' (next to the Turf) open for the friendly home match with Huddersfield on Wednesday evening. Many thanks to Wayne, the landlord of the Turf, for allowing us to use the shop once again.
We will have a number of items on sale at the shop, together with:
- membership forms - for prospective new members
- Red Army volunteer forms - for anyone wishing to help out in any way
- Snowdon sponsorship forms œ registration forms for the walk can also be handed in.
Please note that the shop will only be open before the Huddersfield game.
