The latest WST member to experience being our Director for the Day was Jonathan Jones who travelled up from his Cardiff home to join club directors in the boardroom for the Chester match.
Originally from the Ruthin area, Jonathan was accompanied by his 8 year old son Evan who experienced his first "derby" match. Both thoroughly enjoyed the occasion despite the result. They chatted with various people at the game including Club President Dixie McNeil and Barry Horne as well as the directors of Chester FC who of course are also a fans owned club.
Jonathan provided a photo of himself taken at the Racecourse in 1969 which shows how much the stadium (and Jonathan!) has changed since that time. No doubt the club historians could verify who the opposition were that day but Jonathan had a sneaking suspicion that it might have been Chester (and we managed to win that one!). Be that as it may, like many "exiled" fans he still takes a keen interest in the club and attends as many games as he can. Being an architect, Jonathan was quick to commend the layout of the new club shop and how much of an improvement it was on the old one.
