With Wrexham Football Club celebrating its 150th Anniversary next year, the Wrexham AFC Former Players Association have organised a dinner to start the Anniversary celebrations off with a major ‘Blockbuster!’
The former players have organised a dinner at the Lion Quays Waterside Resort at Moreton, on the A5 near Oswestry, on Friday 14th February, that is sure to be a ‘Hell Raiser!’
Why not celebrate Valentines night in the company of former players of the 150 year-old Wrexham Football Club, whilst being entertained by the World famous Glam Rock band, The Sweet, who have had ten top ten hits with records such as Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Little Willy, Love is Like Oxygen, Teenage Rampage, Wig-Wam Bam plus many many more.
The group is led by local boy Andy Scott, who remains the only original member of the band, and following a memorable concert for the Supporters Trust in 2006 at the William Aston Hall, he was quoted as saying; “A Football Club is the lifeblood of a Town or City, and I just thought I had to help Wrexham.”
Tickets for the event cost £40pp (Tables of ten are £400) and includes a three-course dinner and a welcome drink. You can book your places by handing in, or posting cheques made payable to ‘Wrexham AFC Former Players Association’ to Wrexham AFC Club Shop, The Racecourse Ground, Mold Road, Wrexham, LL11 2AH.
