The Trust Board held its latest meeting on Monday evening 17th February. Here is a summary of what was discussed.
Officers provided reports about recent activities.
Board members discussed the administration of the Junior Dragons. An invitation to take part in a Q and A blog from the Seasiders (Blackpool FC) Independent Supporters Association was accepted. Supporters Direct have agreed to assist with our invitations to 150 supporters trusts/groups to join 150 Wrexham fans in this year’s Snowdon walk.
The Treasurer reported that January’s Trust income amounted to £4801 with expenditure of £892.
WFC Finance Director and Trust Board member Mark Williams provided a detailed update/review of the Football Club's finances.
Fundraising was discussed. The recent FPA Sweet dinner/concert had raised several thousand pounds. The Sports Quiz on the 7 March will take place at the Turf with sponsorship from the Co-op. The Player of the Season Dinner will take place on 27 April.
Approximately 500 membership cards have been sent out recently. The Director for the Day scheme for Trust members was discussed.
Progress on plans for the improvement of facilities for disabled fans was discussed. Further volunteers to present/produce the successful Dragonheart show on Calon FM were required. The provision of car park places in the Turf car park (with proceeds to WST) was discussed including the question of volunteers to “man” it.
The WST AGM and elections were discussed. The Supporters Direct AGM and Supporters Summit on 25th and 26th July at Wembley Stadium was discussed.
The forthcoming Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 -which will convert Industrial and Provident Societies (such as the Trust) into Community Benefit Societies- was discussed.
