Blaine signs on for new season Featured

Hudson Macclesfield goal 03 43Centre half Blaine Hudson has become the first of our senior squad to commit to an extension on his contract, by agreeing an additional season with the club and taking him through to the summer of 2016.

The former Cambridge United and Welling United defender has appeared in 30 games this season and also contributed three goals – including one at Chester.

He joined after playing last season on loan at Welling, being a mainstay at the centre of defence for the Wings in their first season back in the Conference National.

Boss Kevin Wilkin made him his first signing of the summer, when released by the newly promoted U's and the Lowestoft-based player was quick to settle in Wrexham.

"Delighted to have signed a new contract," said Blaine.

"While this season has not turned out how I envisaged when I first signed last year, with the way things are changing behind the scenes, I think we're going in the right direction.

Hudson Macclesfield goal 04 43"When I first came here, I was made really welcome and the lads all get on with each other – and I don't mind the place either!

"The training ground and ground are not far away from where I currently live, the facilities are first class, so I'm happy to be here.

"The Stoke City game has been the highlight of the season so far, hopefully we can push forward and maybe get another Wembley trip in the Trophy.

"Also with 17 league games left we can make a last minute push to get back in there, but we'll have to start winning some games soon.

"But like I say, I'm happy to sign for another year."
