We have listened to fans feedback today, and we have reviewed the pricing structure of official Club travel. From 10am tomorrow morning (Tuesday) we have reduced prices as follows:
- Adult (Club Member) £32
- Child (Club Member) £16
- Adult (Non-member) £35
- Child (Non-Member) £18
This means that the price for a family of 1 adult and 2 kids, who are Club members is £32 + £16 + £16 = £64 which includes parking. Any coaches in the area advertising a flat rate of £25 would have cost the same family £75.
In addition, we think this is convenient for fans and compares well with other ways of getting to Wembley (for example by car or train), particularly given the additional benefits of official travel.
Anyone who has bought coach tickets at the original higher price before tomorrow morning can contact the Club and we will be pleased to refund the difference.
Updated travel information for fans with disabilities
Official Club coaches are able to transport ambulant disabled fans (ie fans without wheelchairs) to Wembley in comfort and a carer (to a maximum of 2 per coach) travels free of charge.
Why have we priced official Club travel in this way?
We developed our coach pricing carefully with a number of aims:
- to focus on best value for families;
- to provide discounts for Club members;
- to provide the widest range of pick up points across North Wales and the Marches all at the same price;
- to provide luxury coaches, all with a toilet and the benefit of insurance and a Club steward;
- to ensure that coaches that have less than full occupancy from all parts of North Wales, can still get fans to Wembley.
As the official travel provider, we’re anticipating having to source in excess of 80 coaches to enable all our fans to get to London wherever they live and however full the coach is. This means we have to source a number of coaches from outside of the area, which comes at an additional expense, to ensure we have the required level of comfort and reliability.
We have listened and looked again at the balance between supporting fans right across the region and not exposing the Club to too much financial risk should coaches not fill, or the mix of passengers travelling with us is different to our expectations. Our revised prices are not set to make a profit across all the coaches, and there is a small risk that the Club will make a loss.
To help us minimise this risk, we urge fans to use Official Club travel, which in many cases will be cheaper, more comfortable and more reliable for fans travelling to Wrexham’s biggest party in 150 years, at Wembley.
