We are pleased to announce that Wrexham Football Club are holding a 10th Anniversary reunion of the Wrexham team that celebrated an unforgettable LDV Vans Football League Trophy 2-0 victory over Southend United at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff along with 20,000 Wrexham fans in attendance.
This game was played at a time when fans had stood up against property developers to save our football club, which had led the club to enter into Administration a few months prior to the game, becoming the first ever Football League club to be deducted ten points. This occasion gave everyone who loved the club the opportunity to show what Wrexham FC meant, and
this occasion turned out to be a memorable day in Wrexham’s illustrious history. It is with all this in mind that we are looking to recall in a reunion of the team that played in that memorable cup final.
It is unbelievable to think that this was ten years ago,but we are pleased to learn that the manager of that side, Denis Smith, will be in attendance to relive the occasion along with his assistant Kevin Russell, physio Mel Pejic, Dennis Lawrence and Andy Holt and hopefully others once confirmed.
The reunion will take place on Sunday 19th April 2015 starting at 1.30pm at the Bamford Suite at the Racecourse when we will show footage of Juan’s Millennium Diary that covered the occasion and interview both players and fans to relive the memories of that memorable day. A hotpot supper will also be available, and the cost of tickets is £15, which are available
from the Club Shop.
Please give your support and enjoy an excellent afternoon of reminiscing.
