Peter Jones of Wrexham supporters Trust is keen to launch a year long fundraising scheme to raise thousands of pounds to support football in Wrexham at the Racecourse.

This initiative supports the agenda for maximising income to the Trust in support of the objectives set out in the recent Special General Meeting. It is distinct from the community share issue.

The Trust Board is now keen to further develop on excellent intiatives like the Snowdon and Three Peaks challenge that have raised significant sums to support the aims and objectives of the Trust to take forward the future of football at the Racecourse.   The ambition is to raise £100,000 in the next year.

The First Steps and Initial Events

Quiz Night 16th September at Wrexham Lager Club

Some Trust members have already arranged three events, and we would like everyone, members or non-members to support these events. The first is a Football Quiz night by Pete Roberts on Friday 16th September at the Wrexham Lager Club, with all proceeds being donated to the WST.

Teams of up to a maximum of five players are invited to take part. The quiz will consist of 100 questions on varying subjects such as The Premiership, FA Cup, World Cup etc as well as rounds on Liverpool, Man United and of course Wrexham plus a 30 question picture round.

A lot of interest has already been shown in this for what should be a good evening's entertainment amongst fellow football fans. The quiz will commence at 8.15pm with doors opening at 7pm. If anyone would like to enter a team then please phone Pete on 07925377666 or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

They have secured a terrific act who are a UB40 tribute band, which includes about 10 musicians, and they have a Disco until 1am, with all proceeds from the evening being for Wrexham Supporters Trust. The cost of a ticket is just £10 (limited to 180), and there will be a raffle on the evening for some good prizes. The organisers of this event, held a similar evening a few years ago and raised £1,100 for Wrexham Football Club when they were active members of the Vale Of Clwyd Reds. We hope all Wrexham fans in the area, whether you are a Trust member or not, will support this event, and take along their family and friends. Please support all three of these events if you can.

Celebrating Success: Snowdon, The Three Peaks Update and Other Updates

It is also time to celebrate some recent fund raising success and to send a huge thanks to all those who organised and participated in events.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank everyone for taking part and those who sponsored the walkers for the climb to the top of Snowdon. It was a magnificent effort by everyone, and those who did the walk, and sponsored the walkers, can proudly say that they were part of the biggest ever-single event fundraiser for Wrexham Supporters Trust, having raised so far the magnificent sum of £22,000! Thank you to one and all. Anyone with outstanding sponsorship money can you hand it in at the Trust Shop before or after any home match.

We would like to thank Trust member Terry Stott and his dog Ruby for their magnificent effort of completing the three peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in 24 hours, and in doing so raised over £2,000!

A big thank you also to Alan Jones of the Nags Head in Ridley Wood, who organised a band night at the pub, which raised another fantastic amount of £1,500.

Finally, anyone interested in helping out with fundraising of any kind then please come along to the Wrexham Lager Club on Monday 19th September for 7.30pm, when we hope to build up our calendar of events and activities.
