This will be used to transport the club's youth teams to their away matches, for community based projects and for WST initiatives.
WST Chairman Bruce Clapton was proud to hand over the vehicle on behalf of WST members. Bruce said "At our recent AGM, Trust members voted overwhelmingly to make some of our funds available for projects that are consistent with the Trusts objectives. We hope this is the first of many such projects that will strengthen ties between the Trust, Wrexham Football Club and the local community".
"The minibus project shows our support in a very tangible and practical way. It will carry the logos of both WFC and WST to demonstrate that we are working together in partnership for the benefit of the club. And I am particularly pleased that the vehicle will be used for community purposes as well as being of great benefit to the Club's Centre of Excellence. It was appropriate that the Minibus's first outing was in support of a Princes Trust community initiative".
WFC Director Geoff Moss said " Everyone knows that the development of the Wrexham Youth system has been very close to my heart over these last few years and I have worked hard with Steve Cooper and Steve Weaver to push it to a much higher level of professionalism. The emergence of teenagers Matty Done, Marc Williams and this season the exciting young prospect Neil Taylor means the system is starting to bear fruit and it will only get better. The Wrexham Youth Team proudly sit top of their League, their best position in years".
"The donation of a minibus by the Wrexham Supporters Trust is a real shot in the arm for our youth department as we now have 2 buses to transport our teams, ranging from 9 - 18 year olds, to their away matches in various parts of the country, and the bus will also be used by the reserve team. I personally would like to say a big thank you to WST. We appreciate any support that WST can give us - and we need all the help we can get if we are to take Wrexham higher both off and on the pitch".
"To all of the members of WST - a big thank you".
