Wrexham Football Club is delighted to announce that planning permission has been submitted to Wrexham County Borough Council to redevelop the Club Shop and Ticket Office areas at the Glyndwr Racecourse Stadium. The redevelopment will result in the current club offices converted into a club shop and will double the amount of retail space available. The ticket office will remain in its present location with the administration offices relocated to rooms that are not fully utilised. The brief given to our architects, ISP Architects of Wrexham, was to review the existing space we occupy at the ground and to suggest a design that met the following objectives:

  • Increasing the visual appearance of the current office and shop entrance
  • Maximising retail space
  • Increasing the capacity of members of the public to access each facility on matchdays
  • Separate the ticket office and shop on matchday
  • Providing disabled access to both outlets
  • Providing the required office space for non-matchday staff to operate from

¢‚¬Å“The redevelopment will greatly improve our retail offering for supporters and will coincide with the launch of the Adidas teamwear range and away shirts,¢‚¬ commented Club Director Don Bircham. ¢‚¬Å“It also allows the Club to increase the number of people we can serve through the ticket office and thus improve the matchday experience for our supporters.¢‚¬The redevelopment will be the first project that will utilise the £120,000 funds raised by the Community Share scheme.President of Wrexham Supporters Trust, Bryn Law, said: ¢‚¬Å“Community Shares change the way that people interact with the club and I am delighted that this first project will be putting the funds raised to such good use. Our aim is to turn the club into a sustainable community owned asset and this demonstrates our commitment to this cause.¢‚¬
