Special General Meeting of the Wrexham Supporters’ Trust in relation to the proposed surrender of the lease to The Racecourse Ground Cae Ras.
The Trust Board is pleased to announce that negotiations with the Club have progressed well with regard to the proposed surrender of the existing lease to the Racecourse Ground, to be replaced by a legally binding covenant so that the Ground will only be used as the home football stadium of Wrexham AFC’s men’s first team until 30 June 2115.
A special general meeting of the Society will be held at 7.00 p.m. (UK time) on 4 December 2023 at which resolutions will be proposed to approve the lease surrender and related matters.
The resolution to approve the lease surrender requires the approval of not less than 75% of votes cast.
SGM and Voting Process
The Special General Meeting will be held, on 4 December 2023, commencing at 7.00 pm (UK time) at The Centenary Club, The Racecourse, Mold Road, Wrexham LL11 2AH in order for Members to discuss the proposed lease surrender.
Voting will open the day following the SGM, on 5 December 2023 at 9.00 am. The meeting will also be broadcast via Zoom to allow members to participate online. Members will either receive an e-mail or details through the post of the Zoom meeting and how to vote, from Mi-Voice, the independent company who will oversee the poll vote in respect of the Lease Surrender process. Voting will remain open until 12 December 2023 at 5.00 pm.
The Trust Board are supportive of the resolutions to be proposed at the AGM, for the reasons detailed in the attached information pack. The Board hope that Members are able to attend the SGM, either in person or by Zoom and to take the opportunity to vote on this important milestone.
